What will my duties be as an entry level crew member in Yachting?

Duties will vary depending on the size and operation of the vessel, but below is a guide to duties that could be expected of you as a Deckhand or Stewardess

Deckhand Duties

  • Wash-Downs

  • Window Cleaning

  • Polishing (Stainless Steel)

  • Painting

  • Beach Set-Ups

  • Scrubbing Deck

  • Tender Driving

  • Water Sports (Operation and maintenance)

  • Watch duties underway and in port

 Stewardess Job Description

  • Food and Beverage Service

  • Table settings

  • Floral decorations

  • Provisioning

  • Housekeeping for guest and crew areas

  • Laundry for crew & guests

  • Crew mess duties

  • Watch duties underway and in port

 What certification to I require:

  • STCW Basic Training including security awareness

  • ENG 1 (Seafarers Medical Certificate)

  • Valid Passport and Relevant Visas

  • RYA Power Boat Level 2 (advantageous for Deckhand roles)

  • RYA Personal Water Craft (advantageous for Deckhand roles)

  • Food and Hygiene level 2 (advantageous for Stewardess roles)
