Matthew Jaenicke is the Group Managing Director at Viking Maritime Group, encompassing Viking Crew, the Maritime Skills Academy (MSA) and Luxury Yacht Interior Training (LYIT). With a keen vision for the maritime industry, Matthew has been instrumental in driving the company towards innovative growth and enhancing operational excellence. He is known for his strategic foresight, fostering strong client relationships, and commitment to the professional development of maritime personnel.
Under Matthew’s leadership, Viking Crew has cemented its position as a premier provider of global maritime recruitment and crew management services. Emphasising the importance of a skilled workforce, he has also championed initiatives at the Maritime Skills Academy to deliver world-class training programs, ensuring that both aspiring and seasoned maritime professionals are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge.
Matthew joined Viking in 2001, however, prior to this, has a seagoing career spanning 8 years working in the Hotel Department of Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises. His early career was spent in the Guest Services department, sailing out of Dover on cross-channel ferries.
